Alarm bells ring for Climate Action in Killina.

Today at 12 o'clock, students and teachers left the classrooms in support of the global student climate protest.

The theme of climate change is an emergency, and the lack of action is alarming. During class 5 today, teachers switched off the lights and computers in rooms to demonstrate the little things that we can all do in the fight against climate change.
In Killina, we are a member of the Worldwise Global Schools (WWGS) group, and have received our 3rd 'Passport Award' last April in recognition of our work in the area of GCE.
Our student-led Global Citizenship Education (GCE) committee are organising a 'Social Justice Week' from the 4th to the 8th November, to create greater awareness of issues relating to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as climate action and sustainable consumption.
A committee of students are taking part in a workshop on Tuesday 1st October to organise a campaign against single-use plastic bottles in our school.
Killina Presentation Secondary School has a Global Partnership with Mahilo Primary School in Kaoma, Zambia, where we do a joint project with the students there- last year the topic of the project was 'Plastics and Pollution'.
