Killina Presentation Secondary School

French Theatre for Schools

On Thursday, 14 May the “French Theatre for Schools” company visited Killina Presentation Convent Secondary School. The members of this theatre company are all native French speakers and their plays are performed in the French language. This year they presented two plays, “Relevez Le Défi” (Take Up The Challenge) to first and second-year students, and “Le Cabaret” to fifth-year students. As usual, the audience thoroughly enjoyed the humorous story-lines and entertaining acting. Another feature of the spectacle was a puppet-show. Students from all classes also had roles in the plays and played their parts with distinction. Those who took part were Leon Doherty, Daryl Troy,Danny O'Brien,Colleen Mooney, Tiernan McLoughlin (first years), Joe Mahon, Amy Wilson, Eileen Keaveney, David Bennett (second years), Kevin Mooney, Shauna Heffernan, Michael McConigley, Glenn Mahon and Leona Buckley (fifth years). Students look forward eagerly to the visit of the “French Theatre for Schools”, a visit that has become an annual event at Killina.
