Defibrillators

Killina Presentation Secondary School outgoing Student Council with Mrs. Carmel Spollen from the Parents Association recently presented Mr. Michael Nolan (Principal) with a defibrillator.

The school now has two defibrillators – one to remain in school at all times and one to be brought on school outings.
Some staff members will be going for training in the use of the machines in Autumn 2008.

In his speech outgoing Student Council President, Niall Colbert, thanked the Parents Association for their assistance with this project, and while realising the importance of this piece of equipment, he hoped it would never have to be used.
Mrs. Carmel Spollen, Chairperson, said that the Parents Association were delighted to work with the Student Council on this worthwhile project. She said she was proud of the Student Council and looked forward to working with the incoming group.
In an assembly in the school gym the outgoing Student Council members were presented with their certificates and the incoming Student Council members were introduced to the student body.
Principal Mr. Michael Nolan thanked the outgoing Council for their work and dedication throughout the year and wished the incoming Council success.
